Eva Forys
Eva completed her articles with a small firm in Edmonton and went on to practice construction and indigenous litigation for over four years with a medium-sized law firm in downtown Edmonton. Eva decided to return to her real estate roots, and currently practices Real Estate Law, in addition to Wills and Estates and General Business Law, serving the needs of individuals and business owners in the Tri-Municipal area.
Approach to the Law
As a successful small business owner and real estate investor, Eva understands that proper legal advice protection is an often overlooked, but necessary aspect of any business. Eva admires the hard work, tenacity, courage, and perseverance of her clients, and shares those values.
As a parent and a real estate investment owner, she understands the importance of properly advising her clients regarding their Wills and Estate needs and Corporate structures with proactive, tax-efficient planning. Above all, she is interested in providing practical and cost-effective legal solutions to her clients. She has appeared in matters before the Provincial Court and the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench and adds value to her clients with an understanding of litigation risks and strategies as an alternative when needed.
Associations and Interests
Eva is active in her son’s minor hockey league development and her daughter’s many interests. She enjoys time spent hiking in the stunning Rocky Mountains and enjoying the Alberta lake lifestyle in the summers. Eva is a current member of the Law Society of Alberta and the Canadian Bar Association. She is a former volunteer at the Civil Claims Duty Counsel in Edmonton, a former host of the legal segment at the CKUA Polish Ethnic Radio, a former photography contributor to the Stollery Children’s Hospital and Kids’ Kottage, and a former volunteer at a walk-in legal advocacy clinic in Saskatoon.
Education
- Eva Forys graduated with a Bachelor of Management from the University of Lethbridge in 2001, with a focus in Marketing.
- Upon graduation, Eva obtained her real estate license and managed many successful real estate family investments and photography ventures before she returned to Law School.
- She obtained her Juris Doctor (with Distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan in 2016. She was admitted to the Alberta bar in 2017.
