Edmonton Needs Your Help - River City Cares

RE/MAX River City is a family of big-hearted people, year-round we support different community groups and charities, but during the holiday season and cold weather, many groups call for extra support.

We're proud to help support these two local Edmonton charities this year.  Coats for kids and families from the United Way  and The Edmonton Food Bank

Edmonton's Food Bank

Working with a strong network of 250 depots and other partner agencies, Edmonton Food Bank responds to the immediate hunger needs in our community. We are both gleaners and distributors of food. We are flexible and can provide relief when an emergency or disaster strikes.

Their programming is reflective of community input and is respectful of the skills and mandates of other organizations. Edmonton's Food Bank is committed to meeting the community’s demand for food while advocating for policy changes and longer-term solutions to hunger.

Coats for Kids and Families United Way

United Way of the Alberta Capital Region started the Coats for Kids & Families initiative in 1992 due to an overwhelming demand for winter wear. Many local families simply don’t have the means to purchase the clothing needed to stay warm during Alberta’s harsh winters. Last year, this organization was able to distribute 5,020 coats and they anticipate an even higher need this year as people face the ripple effects of the pandemic.

Once collected, the coats are brought to United Way’s InKind Exchange where groups of volunteers sort and package the coats to be delivered to social agencies who distribute the items to the people who need them.
